About this place
At Nobara Coffee, you might pair walnut-and-cheese toast with tea, or take a breather over a doughnut and coffee. The menu moves easily between savoury bites and sweet treats, making it well suited to a quiet spell.
Visitors often single out the walnut-and-cheese toast. The menu lists a thin-sliced toast called “Cheese Walnut” (550 yen), which one guest ordered with tea. For something simpler, there is cinnamon toast; one diner remembers its crisp texture and generous portion.
For a sweet treat, rice-flour chiffon cake is 250 yen. The menu notes that it contains amanatsu marmalade and mirin lees. Doughnuts are 300 yen, and are described as made mainly with rice and almonds. One visitor enjoyed a Kōgyoku apple rice-flour pound cake, a doughnut and hot chocolate, describing the cake as moist, the doughnut as pleasantly chewy and the chocolate as rich. If that combination is available during your visit, it makes for a sweet-focused tea break.
Coffee is 550 yen, served black or with milk, or 600 yen with unwhipped cream. Dandelion coffee is also 550 yen, and the menu includes tea and cocoa among other drinks. One visitor noted being able to choose between regular and dark-roast coffee. If you are unsure how to take yours, cream is another option.
Visitors describe the café, tucked down an alley, as quiet—a place to read alone or chat softly in a small group. It is better suited to spending time with a drink and a light bite than to lively conversation. Dine-in service is available from 12:00 to 18:30 on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Payment is cash only, and takeaway is not available. Come prepared to enjoy your order at the café.
